1. Password
If you have a password for this editing system, please enter it above, and note that it is case sensitive.
2. File selection
You can edit any page from your web site by selecting the relevant page above, once selected click on "Edit" to begin editing.
Note: When you are editing the page, this help text will no long be visible, you can open a new window with this help text in.
3. Editing
As you are editing the content of the web page directly, please be extremely careful.
You can click and type anywhere within the document, and change the text properties in a number of ways using the buttons provided above, or using standard keyboard shortcuts (see below).
If you make any mistakes whilst editing, you can click on the "Undo" button to re-trace your steps (or use the shortcut CTRL-Z).
4. Saving your changes
When you have finished editing, you must save the page in order to keep your changes. Do this by clicking on the "Save" button above.
Once the page has been saved, the edited web page will be displayed - note that if you need to make further modifications you cannot edit this view, so click on "Edit" again.
Note: If you have removed or changed your password in the box above, this saving action will fail, and you will lose your changes.
5. Images
You can edit images on the page by moving their position relative to the text, resizing them, inserting, copying or deleting them. Since this effects the layout of the page it is strongly advised that you do this with caution. You can also add images which are already part of the website simply by selecting it (click-and-drag from one side of the image to the other, being careful not to pick up any text) and pasting it onto the page you're editing. You'll probably want to have another window open with the website in it. You can also use the image tool button above (
) to view all site images, and to add images from your PC.
General Notes:
a) This editing tool requires Internet Explorer v5.5 or higher, if you don't have a suitable browser, please download one from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.htm.
b) When you are editing a web page, it will be surrounded by a blue border, if the blue border isn't there, you aren't looking at the editable version of the page and you won't be able to type any new text or save any changes.
c) Although you can move, resize and insert images, you are advised to do so with great caution.
To make editing and enhancing the text of the web page as easy as possible, a button bar is provided at the top of the window. The buttons have the following actions:
